How to Celebrate National Dog Day with Your Pup

Happy National Dog Day!

Let’s be honest: every day is National Dog Day. But since today is the official one, here’s a guide to making the most of it with your pup.

Morning

  • Wake your dog up with lots and lots of pets, plus plenty "ooos" and "aaas".
  • When they do the big stretch, announce it loudly: “Biiiiig stretch!” This step is non-negotiable.
  • Ask the most important question of the day: “Do you wannna…?” You don't even need to finish your sentence. Your dog already knows the answer is yes.

Late Morning

  • Head out for their favorite adventure: hike, park, beach, or whatever makes their tail spin like a helicopter.
  • Bring water, shade, and a PupLid. Because sun safety has never looked so good.
  • Document your adventures with lots and lots of photos.

Afternoon

  • Treats. Many, many treats.
  • Pile on the belly rubs while repeating the phrase: “You are the best dog ever, ever.” Dogs can never hear it enough.
  • Let them crash for a nap. If they look broken (limbs dangling, tongue out), that means it's going perfectly.

Evening

  • One last walk, game of fetch, or zoomie session before bed.
  • Finish the day with another round of, you guessed it, belly rubs and goodnight head tickles.

National Dog Day is about celebrating your dog in all their glory: the stretches, the chaos, the naps, and the unconditional love. Whether you spend it adventuring or just handing out snacks like a human vending machine, your pup will think it’s the best day ever.
